Slushing Our Way to Spring

IMG_1174.JPGCaIt snowed here over the weekend which is not all that unusual seeing that this is Minnesota in March. Predictions were for 6 inches of snow with rain and ice. That was supposed to happen on Saturday after midnight. Snowfall would be heavy or so the forecast went. Fortunately, the forecast was inaccurate or maybe a little too cautious. By late Sunday afternoon only 2 inches of slushy wet snow had fallen coating everything in a layer of frosting. I took a walk into the marsh to see the snow covered plants and then later headed down to the river. The ice had not refrozen, it had even melted a little more, but sticks and twigs poking up out of the water were nicely decorated with a layer of icy snow.
