Since the days have started getting longer my chickens’ egg production has seen a steady rise. In the last 18 days my 15 hens have averaged just under 8 eggs a day. I think I’ll at least be able to pay for the feed and start paying myself back for the lumber I bought for their coop if I can sell 4 dozen eggs a week.
As the weather warms and the days get longer egg production should go up to about 10 a day from May until September. Of course there is that old saying about not counting eggs that might apply here.
